Climbing engages and tones muscles throughout the body, including abs and core, biceps, lats, calves and forearms.
Climbing is as cerebral as it is physical, so it's challenging on many levels. It is also a very technically-oriented pursuit, so our high-tech or engineering clients can enjoy this aspect of the sport.
Functional sessions with our climbing clients include:

General environmental issues relating to climbing
Gear, as technical as necessary
Climbing ethics and non-negotiable expectations with regard to climbing
Knot tying and belaying
Instruction on climbing styles, body awareness, positioning and management
Footwork, footwork, footwork
Review of types of grips and how to avoid pumping out too soon
Functional Adventure provides all safety gear and we follow prevailing American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA) standards and ethics. We reserve the right to end the session immediately and terminate the contract with any client who is deemed a danger to themselves or others.
